Lan Thanh Ha (Lan) is a researcher and Head of Department at Department of Training and International Projects, Vietnam Institute of Water Resources Planning, a governmental body responsible to develop strategies and solutions in water resources and environmental management. Lan has extensive experience in water resources (water, climate and ecosystems), infrastructure planning and basin development in South East Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Singapore. He holds an MSc in Hydroinformatics and water management from University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis, France and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (specialized in water infrastructure engineering) from Thuy Loi University, Vietnam. He is also a PhD researcher at the Water Management Department at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands where his main focus is in the use of remote sensing and hydrological models to improve the evaluation and quantification of water-related ecosystem services.
